Bmw X1 Sav Redefines Joy In Driving

March 10, 2012

If you can’t decide whether you want a sporty BMW 3 Series touring sedan, or a luxurious but rugged BMW X3 Sport Activity Vehicle, Budds BMW Oakville may have the answer right here in the showroom. BMW has paired the styling and elegance of their 3 Series automobiles with the sure footed agility of their X Series SAV’s to create the 2011 BMW X1. BMW believes that agility plus elegance equals joy, and this innovative crossover vehicle delivers on all three parts of that equation, bringing you the best of both worlds.

Elegance and Style

BMW vehicles are known the world over for elegance and style and the X1 does not disappoint. Taking styling cues from the larger BMW X5, the X1 has gently rising lateral lines, giving it a sleek profile that is unmistakably BMW. Short front and rear overhangs and a sloping rear windshield offer a stance that is sporty without being too aggressive. The end result is a vehicle that is as much a joy to look at as it is to drive.

The elegance is carried seamlessly through to the interior, where the X1 shares the ergonomic beauty of the BMW 3 Series. Everything in the cockpit is geared toward the driver and the BMW driving experience. The controls are intuitive and easy to reach and the clean, subtle lines of the cabin lead the driver’s eye continually toward the road.

Performance and Agility

The 2011 BMW X1′s xDrive28i is the first TwinPower turbo equipped four cylinder engine in their lineup. The 2.0 litre engine is modeled after BMW’s venerable in-line 6 cylinder power plants; but with fuel economy ratings of just 7.9 litres per 100 km, drivers will enjoy the savings at the pump. With more than 240 horsepower and the ability to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds, BMW lovers will never miss those extra two cylinders.

The xDrive system puts all that power to the ground through all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission with BMW’s Steptronic technology. The transmission delivers light but responsive gear changes and xDrive automatically adjusts to the terrain and road conditions, so you always have the maximum traction available in every situation.
