Steven asks…

How much for a 2007 bmw 3 series?

I’m looking for a new bmw 3 series sedan. I want it to be the metallic grey (the dark grey), and i want everything to be all base. Do you think i can find the exact car i want on the lot or do u think i would have to order it? Will it cost more if i have to order it? And how much do u think the car would be w/o tax, and how much w/ tax ( i live in New Orleans btw). For the people who owns a 2007 3 series sedan, can you tell me how much u got it for w/o tax?

Administrator answers:

About $56,000

Sharon asks…

Why does a Used BMW 3 series cost more than a Saab 9-3?

I have found that in general a Used BMW 3 series costs way more than a used Saab 9-3 Aero. Why is this when the Saab and BMW are equal cars?

Administrator answers:

They aren’t equal cars. The BMW is a better car and also costs more.

William asks…

What is the difference between the BMW models?

What are the main differences between the BMW 3 series, 5 series, and 7 series?

and what is the difference between a 740IL and the 740i?

Administrator answers:

All are differences of size, and price. Going along with that is that the larger cars are typically heavier, with more standard equipment, and often (but not always) more powerful.

The 3-series is BMW’s most popular model, and is regarded as an entry-level luxury (or near-luxury in industry verbage) car. It is the benchmark for competitive compact luxury sedans such as the Audi A4, Mercedes C-Class, Infiniti G35/G37 and Lexis IS-series.

The 5-series is the next size up, a mid-size luxury car, and competes against other luxury sedans such as the Audi A6, Mercedes E-class, Infiniti M-series and Lexus GS models.

Finally, the 7-series is BMW’s full-size luxury car and competes against other large luxury sedans such as the Audi A8, Mercedes S-class and Lexus LS models.

The essential difference between the BMW 740i and 740iL is in the wheelbase of the two cars, with “L” designating long wheelbase. There are minor option differences between the two cars, as well. I’m assuming you’re looking at the 1994-2001 E38 7-series models with this question. One of the biggest differences, for example, is that while there were supposedly Sport models of the 740i and 740iL, the iL version did not have the sport suspension and sport transmission of the standard wheelbase model.
