Your Questions About Bmw X5 Price

Sandy asks…

BMW Prices in current climate ?

Hi – has anyone had any recent experiance on buying a new BMW X5? I will be looking to get a used X5 in the new year and wondered what the current view is from the dealer comunity. I have already had them on the phone offering big incentives on a new one but havent really seen any significant moves on used – I dont want to start the negotiation until the new year so I have not enquired directly.

Administrator answers:

BMW sales have dropped between 25% and 29% compared to September and October of last year and the year-to-date sales have declined almost exactly 10%. Mercedes-Benz sales (this year) are only down 5.5%, Acura is down 8%, Lexus is down 9.1%, and Audi sales have actually increased in the last year.

I was interested in buying the new X5 4.8i a few weeks ago and was offered almost $10,000 under MSRP on a leftover 2008 (since they aren’t moving, even here on Long Island, NY). I went home with the offer and after sleeping on it, I decided the bad reviews weren’t worth the price tag.

George asks…

Do you think it’s a good Idea to change my X5 with smaller SUV to save money?

I have a 2002 BMW X5 with 66000 miles and I was advised to sell it and buy a 2007 Rav4 because Rav4 has a better gas mileage and lower maintenance costs. I was told that even if I add $5000 or more to the X5 selling price and buy a Rav4 then in 10 years not only I would get this money back but also I would save even more money. If I don’t sell the X5, I would keep it for 10 years or 150000 extra miles.
I need your professional advice. Thanks

The key word is “near” and unfortunately i don’t know what it means.

Linda asks…

Porsche Cayenne vs. BMW X5?

Deciding which to buy. Prices is not an issue. V8 in the Cayenne, straight 6 turbo charged diesel in the X5. Panoramic sunroofs in both. Premium sound systems in both. Leather in both. AWD in both. Which will have better resale value? Which do you like better and why? Will be using it for all purposes (in town, highway, long trips, mountain driving,etc.). Thanks for your opinions! :D

Administrator answers:

Cayenne! I will give you a link to the edmunds.com (one of the best respected auto reviewers in the world) reviews of each. They should include all the info you want.
