So long as all of the parts will go together, and you know that, then that is going to be a fantastic computer. Make sure that if you are going to get 16Gb of RAM to get a 64-bit OS to go with it. 32-bit OS’s can only make use of 8Gb of RAM. Also make sure that the socket of the CPU matches with the socket on the motherboard. If they don’t match, then you will have wasted a few hundered dollars. Also that the speed of the RAM matches with the max speed of the motherboard. Other than making sure to double check those, I’d say that computer is ready to purchase. It will be a masterpiece, I know that much. I’m envious just reading what’s on your list.

Administrator answers:

** Update **
Oh if you’re not a heavy-duty gamer it’s fine. It can handle Minecraft easily. And you could give it a big boost by installing a Radeon HD 7750. It’s just that for the money you could probably get something quite bit better. How much are they charging for it?

That’s not a good gaming build.

AMD’s A-series processors are low-end, with poor gaming performance. They were designed for people who wanted a cheap system for everyday work and really low-end easy games like the Sims, Minecraft, maybe WoW on medium settings WITHOUT having to buy a separate graphics card. They cut down on the CPU power in order to beef up the integrated graphics.

Games like Battlefield 3, MW3, Arma II etc will require a gaming-level card anyway, so the A8-3850 isn’t really a good choice.

Jenny asks…

I just got a puppy from the pound yesterday. Today, she keeps throwing up and is acting lethargic. What is it?

I got a 5 month old Australian Cattle Dog/Labrador Retriever mix from the pound yesterday. She was highly energetic yesterday, even after we had brought her home. This morning she seemed fine as well. Then, later on in the afternoon around 4, she started making a weird noise and then throwing up. She also has gone poop 3 times today, however it was always solid. Her energy level is completely gone she just lounges around and won’t play or eat treats. Her stomach keeps making weird noises so I think it has something to do with that. She did get fixed on 2/12/2012 and I fed her midday and gave her the medicine they told me to (Rimadyl 50mg x1) and it seems like after that is when she started to get sick/act different. I don’t know if it is that though because she was fine yesterday and I’m sure they gave her the same thing yesterday as well. What should I do? What could it be?

Administrator answers:

As she is only 2 days post-surgery you should be trying to keep her as quiet as possible. No running, jumping, etc. If she had parvo you would expect bloody, diarhea. It may be the Rimadyl as it can cause the symptoms your dog is exhibiting. You could try not giving it to her. Rimadyl is a pain killer, not an antibiotic. I woud leave her at least 8 hours since her last feeding before feeding her again and then feed her a 50/50 mix of ground beef or chicken and rice which is very bland and will help settle her stomach.
