Richard asks…

Is this air filter a good one?

I don’t want to buy anything until I know it’s worth awhile, Noise won’t be an issue, I just need something so I can get rid of pet allergies in the bed room

Administrator answers:

It does a good job but beware of the square footage limitation. 170 sq ft is only a 10′X17′ room. If you have a central AC system you can get a similar type filter for about twice the price but it will cover your whole house.

Thomas asks…

What do I do with a damaged rug?

I have a large rug (about 8′x17‘) rug. I paid around $2500 for it about 15 years ago. The tag on the rug said it’s “Englis,” which I believe has to do with Iran or Persia, not with England.” Unfortunately, it has about a large area (about 2′ x 1′ severely damaged by moths (they ate the pile) as well as another small area. I am getting a new rug, and wondering what I should do with the old rug. Is it worth repairing and selling? Should I sell it as is for a few hundred bucks (would anyone pay that)? Should I try to cut it down and sell it? Or donate it? Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Administrator answers:

As you have already paid so much for this rug you will be prepared to pay for it to be repaired by an expert found on yellow pages or the net

Lizzie asks…

How do you multiply TU X TU using column method?

I’m 13 and in my homework today I’m meant to be multiplying TU X TU using the column method, but we haven’t done this since Year 6 and I’ve forgotten entirely how to do it! :|

For example:

What numbers are you meant to be timesing by each other?
Is it 5 x 7, then 3 x 1 or is it 5 x 7 then 5 x 3 or, if not, what is it?
Can somebody explain please? Points to the best answer!

Administrator answers:

= 595
(I’m ‘old school’) your ex. Begin X ‘ing by the 1, it’s a ten so put a 0 under the 7, then 1 x 5 = 5, put that before the 0, then 1 x 3 = 3, put that beside the 5.
Next x, 7×5 put the 5 under the 0 & carry the 3, then x, 7×3 = 21 add the 3 = 24, put that beside the 5, then add 350+245 = 595

How much is a return ticket on the X17?

im looking to see if it is cheaper to get a return on the bus, from sheffield to chesterfield, then the train I know that a return on the train is £5.50? (roughly). my friend said it was around £2.80 for a single on the bus but i cant find anywhere that tells me a return :/ help please!

Administrator answers:

You would need to contact the bus company running the route for fare information. It really is simpler to take the train. They are far more frequent and faster than the bus

Mark asks…

Looking for older copier brands to make art transfer images easier?

What are the best models of older photocopy machines that do not heat the paper (further pulling the toner into the paper) to allow a transfer to be made without as much work and with a cleaner image? i would love something that would take an 11″x17” paper, but i’ll make that a requirement :)

Administrator answers:

1) Some older copiers used only pressure to “crush” the toner into the paper.
Mita copiers and AB Dick copiers used this process.

2) Even older machines used a liquid process. Electrostatic copy paper was bathed in a solution with toner.

Savin and Minolta specialized in liquid technology.

I don’t believe transfer paper or 11 x 17 paper were supported in any of those machines.

A slower desktop copier may be better for your needs. The slower the copier, the less heat is needed to fuse toner to paper.

Several brands and models will work for you. Check the manufacturer’s recommended materials list for transfer paper support.

What is the compatibility between Microsoft Project 2010 and 2013?

I am using a document from 2010 but I cannot download the trial version of MS project 2010 I can only download Microsoft Project Professional 2013, will it work with the 2010 document? Is there a converter for it?
Simply Red they are both MP professional and they all require a product key. Got one without that and standard version?

Administrator answers:

The 2013 version should be able to open projects created from older versions. It is downwards compatible.

Anyway, I wonder why can’t you download a trial version of Project 2010. Here, get what you need:
Microsoft Project 2010 Standard w/ SP1
32 & 64bit (843MB) —
32bit (357MB) –
64bit (407MB) –

Microsoft Project 2010 Professional w/ SP1
32 & 64bit (884MB) —
32bit (369MB) –
64bit (343MB) –

If you have to continue using it after the trial period expires then you have to purchase a product key.
